Texas Nationalist Movement Announces Support for Northern Mexico's Independence Movement

Amid the border crisis, TNM President Daniel Miller released a video, in English and Spanish, backing the movement to assert the independence of Mexico's northern states from Mexico City.

NEDERLAND, Texas

Daniel Miller, President of the Texas Nationalist Movement, has released a video announcing his full support for the movement to assert the independence of the northern states of Mexico from the central government in Mexico City. The statement, addressed to the Mexican government and President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, was released in both English and Spanish.

Northern Mexican states have voiced growing frustration as both the Mexican and American governments turn a blind eye to the crisis along the shared border. If their movement succeeds, Texas would no longer share a border with the government in Mexico City.

“Our shared border has become a battleground for a crisis that affects both our lands,” Miller said. “These states endure the consequences of federal policies that ignore the realities of border life. They suffer violence, economic disruption, and the erosion of community safety. This crisis harms not only Texans but also the citizens of Mexico's northern states, who are equally deserving of peace, security, and prosperity.”

Miller described the northern movement as a response to years of neglect and corruption, and the failure of the central government to address the needs of its border regions. With Texas at its own crossroads over how to handle the crisis, he argued, the case for independence on both sides of the border has only grown stronger.
